The Year of the Snake is drawing to a close and 1st February 2014 will usher in the Year of the Horse, which will in turn end on 18 February 2015.
In Chinese astrology, the Horse is seen as a high-spirited, free and independent creature and the sign of the Horse is equated with boundless energy and inventiveness. The sign presages a year full of new projects, surprises and achievements, an excellent time for action, luck and hard work. The Horse won't return for another 12 years so we should make the most of this opportunity to turn dreams and ambitions into reality!
People born in the Year of the Horse (1918, 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002) are known for their efficiency and vivacity. They are also loyal, elegant, seductive and very sociable. They have a keen sense of humour and are masters of repartee. Horse people can be a somewhat selfish and opportunistic and have an impatient streak making them less than sensitive to others' needs. They also sometimes lack confidence in themselves.
Since horses are intelligent, clever with their hands, quick-witted and creative, they can find success in just about every professional field. They are also very attentive to their friends and family. Easy-going, good-natured and amiable, Horses are very popular people and get on particularly well with Tigers and Dogs but they are at daggers drawn with Rats, Snakes and other Horses!
The Horse is a sign that is forever on the go and keen to overcome obstacles so the Year of the Horse will be exhilarating and fast-moving, carrying us onwards at a breathless pace. Just keep a firm grip on the reins and all will be well!
