Get right up to date for your Christmas and New Year celebrations with this new 110 XPF stamp issue, designed by Jean-Paul Vérét-Lemarinier and featuring a sparkling fibre optic Christmas tree.
OPT-NC has planned to invest 9.5 billion XPF francs in the rollout of a fibre optic cable system (glass or plastic optical fibre capable of carrying internet data at the speed of light) across the whole of New Caledonia. Ideally suited to sending a high density stream of data over long distances, fibre optic cable is set to revolutionise the New Caledonian internet experience by making superfast broadband available to all.
OPT-NC has spread the fibre optic throughout all New Caledonia since 2015. Over 2016, superfast fibre optic internet access has already been delivered to subscribers in various areas of Noumea, the South Province and the North Province, and work to extend the system is moving full steam ahead. Every single customer will have access to the fibre optic system at home by the end of the year 2022. Check out the website for updates on implementation of New Caledonia’s fibre optic system: www.opt.nc.
OPT-NC would like wish all digital economy stakeholders, internet users and social media fans everything you could possibly desire to stay super connected with friends and family this festive season.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year !
