The Office des Postes et Télécommunications de Nouvelle-Calédonie (OPT) is delighted to announce the issue of a new permanent value stamp, designed by Jean-Jacques Mahuteau, as the first in a series dedicated to legendary aircraft of today and yesteryear, all of which have earned popular acclaim in New Caledonia.
The first stamp in the series features the A330neo long-haul airliner “Kanuméra”, built by European aircraft manufacturer Airbus. The “Kanuméra” was put into operation by Aircalin in 2019 as part of the airline’s fleet upgrade for flights between New Caledonia, Japan and Oceania.
Integrating the very latest in advanced technology, state-of-the-art reduced fuel consumption and passenger comfort design, the A330neo is a new generation, fuel efficient, more environmentally friendly aircraft.
Proudly flaunting the colours of New Caledonia on its fuselage and on board, the “Kanuméra” offers expanded seating capacity (291 passengers) and boasts the latest in-flight entertainment options (HD touch screens, WiFi).
The cabin design and layout showcases New Caledonia's natural heritage in decor and colour schemes: the coastline in Business Hibiscus Class, the forest in Premium Economy Class and the lagoon in Economy Class, offering each and every passenger optimal comfort and in-flight satisfaction.
