The Stamp and Stamp Collection Exhibition organised by Club Philatélique le Cagou is an opportunity for stamp collectors and enthusiasts to show off their patiently amassed treasures to the general public. Stamp devotees and enthusiasts will find plenty to satisfy their philatelic cravings and curiosity in browsing through the displays presented by various individual collectors and in admiring the themed exhibits organised by the Le Cagou Club.
As a co-sponsor of the event, New Caledonia’s Office des Postes et Télécommunications will be presenting a number of new stamp issues, including a stamp booklet illustrating New Caledonian letter boxes. While these homemade receptacles bear witness to their owners’ originality and creativity, their widely varying shapes and lack of any secure locking system mean that delivery of parcels and bulky items often presents a real problem. The best solution, for both addressees and delivery staff, is the “BAL’N” or standardised letter box, which guarantees secure delivery and keeps delivered mail safe. Another highpoint of the exhibition will be the OPT personalised postage stamp.
